I found two of these in the last day and wonder if it means there are alot more.

My baby daughter got about 4 bites on her legs that appear to be mosquito bites. They are big and welt like. But when I found the spider in her room, I'm worried (neurotically I think!) that its from the spider.

It doesn't appear to make a web. It just moves fast and both were found around the baseboards. They were a little over 1/2 inch long.

Any thoughts on this?? Do these spiders bite? Would there be several bites on one leg - nowhere else. Please help!

Though I can't say for sure, my guess would be that they are wolf spiders, a fairly common hunting spider across the US. They're kind of creepy looking, and pretty quick. So people see them and tend to freak out. You're not being neurotic - this is a very aggressive-looking spider and your daughter has bites from something, so it's understandable.

But, they're not a concern - for the most part, they're harmless to humans. My guess is that your daughter does, indeed, have mosquito or flea bites, and that the spiders are simply there for the food (the bugs, not the daughter).

Grab some cedar blocks, at a hardware store or drug store. Hang one on your daughter's room's doorknob, and another on her closet door. Those will repel the insects, and the spiders will leave without food.

sounds like maybe a wolfe spider. They can get very large, much larger than what you saw, depending upon where you live. Yes, they bite, they are not deadly, but they can make you sick. Just pay attention to the bites on her leg, if they start looking worse, or if your daughter is feverish or lethargic, get her to a doctor immediately. If she seems fine, and the bites don't bother her at all, I would just keep an eye on them until they disappear. Good luck.

I can't tell from your description - would need some more information about body shape, any other distinguiishing featrues, etc. But, for what it's worth, I'd say it's not very likely that any bites you see are from spiders. Not impossible, but not likely; more likely the bites are from something that the spiders are in there eating. You generally don't see predators like spiders unless there's food around for them to eat.

My sister married a white dude and we all love him, he's one of the family, so we not all like that. I honestly don't care as long as the black woman I see a white dude with ain't my wife, lol. There's a lot of self-segregation in the black community and an intolerance to outsiders. It's stupid, but to a lot of black men, a black man with a white woman is viewed as a sort of justice: something he's taken from "the man", while a white guy with a black woman is seen as a hostile intrusion into the black community. Sorry to say, but the black community struggles with progress too. The idea of "color-blindness" is something many black people expect of other races, but feel no obligation to live up to themselves.
