In last Friday's (25/5) interviews, the McCanns were given a very easy time by the interviewers. Does anyone know whether the questions had to be agreed in advance with their lawyers and spin doctors? The BBC have so far failed to respond to my questions.

Also, why was one of the first things the McCanns did to hire these lawyers and media advisors, rather than people who could actually help in the search for Madeleine, such as private investigators, who Gerry McCann says aren't even 'on the agenda'? Very early on, uncle John McCann said one reason for wanting donations was to pay for mounting legal bills, which immediately aroused my suspicions. Lawyers and media advisors are normally only hired on this scale if people have something to hide.

I agree with you. I have been asking that very same question as you have. The McCann's say that they will leave 'No stone unturned' yet they are not willing to hire private detectives which, in my opinion could provide the crack in this case. Maybe the McCann's are not ready to have Madeleine found just yet. I am just so sorry that the innocent child has to suffer.

My biggest question is What the holy **** were they thinking leaving a four year old girl in a hotel room alone with two little babies? The whole thing sounds wonky.

I know, it is rather peculiar. the lawyer [or rather QC] they employed deals in child law so I would suspect that they employed him to advise them on their legal position with respect to any impending charges levelled against them for child neglect.

The set of chambers they have employed do not deal with tax law, limited companies or anything concerning money, they deal simply with child law [ as I checked online ].

As for the Media advisers/PR people, I feel that they would have been advised to employ these people by the lawyers in order to garner support which would then make it unlikely for charges to be brought against them.

If you think about it what they have done is actually quite clever because have you seen any trips to Portugal by Leicestershire Social Services? Have you seen the Portugese authorities commence proceedings against them for child neglect???

Very clever indeed!!!

all this is because the portugese police do not search and interview like other countries do,they will not allow empty shut up buildings to be searched the Mc Canns are having to do it all themselves, there is so much that hasnt been done out there that would have been done in any other country by now
