You answer a question with your personal experience yes, about why you don't like this and how your mind became that way and you get a thumbs down for it, how do you feel?

I yell out, "You're the thumbs down!! You are!!"

Then I storm off.
Then I come back two seconds later and say, "You don't even know. You don't EVEN know!!"
Then, three seconds later, "My father was a brilliant man!!"

Then I repeat the "YOU'RE THE THUMBS DOWN!!!", only louder (as indicated by the CAPS) ...

Then I do this ...

*jumps out window*

Confused. You've chosen to be honest and try to help somebody by relating to them, and you get a thumbs down for it. Its like why? What did I do wrong? Then I look back and I say "You know - I was polite, I didn't swear, I didn't use slang..I have nothing to feel upset about - a thumbs up or down has no importance to me" but I still wonder why...
Sometimes though, I've tried really hard to understand and reply to a question, I've spent a lot of time, written a lot and I feel I've replied well yet I still get thumbs down. I think some people just chose to give a thumbs down if they don't agree with your opinion. So for example; "I love red" then the person who likes blue gives them a thumbs down. Fair enough you don't agree, so don't give them a thumbs up but why do they deserve a thumbs down?

anyway
hope this helps
take care and don't worry about thumbs ups and thumbs downs, they don't mean anything. Unless you have done something like used bad language to get a thumbs down - you have nothing to feel bad about.

It made me feel bad at first... then I remembered I had accidentally hit thumbs down when I meant the opposite. Also, I realized it didn't matter what others thought. Only what I thought of myself.

Now if everyone placed thumbs down, I might pay more attention. But for all I know, it could be a 13 year old that never experienced anything and cannot understand such emotions or experiences.

I don't think much of it. Sometimes I don't think my answers deserve a thumbs down and sometimes I think there are people who go through a question and give everyone a thumbs down. I've seen that happen too and every answer wasn't bad. Personally I like giving thumbs up when I agree with something someone said or can relate.

Yeah, it's crazy. How can anyone disagree with a personal experience? But it makes me laugh to think someone went to all the trouble of giving me a thumbs down for that.

But it is a bit crazy here on YA.

I just hope that the person giving thumbs down will not have to go through the experiences they are judging.

as if I've bared my soul only to get it crushed into smithereens. *sigh* And here I thought I was helping someone....

No, but seriously, I figure a person who is bold enough to say a personal experience is worthless doesn't really care about people at all. It isn't fair to treat people as though their thoughts do not matter. Personal or otherwise, a thumbs down is just cruel!

I think its jacked up because you can't change the past! People need to see sometimes that you have or are going through the same things that that have/are going through. When you see what others reactions to things were you might take a moment to think about it and just might not do it because you know what the outcome is.

nothing it means nothing, so some one does not agree, or some one feels bad and thumbs ya, and sometimes it might feel good if he thumbs, you at least they took the time to read it and you sparked a reaction, so the message is cast, but really," so what you know," .
