I went yesterday with my family and looking around everyone seemed to have a great time after going on the rollercoasters and other rides and not feeling sick at all. One thing I do on the fast rides such as rollercoasters is close my eyes and move my head forward, do you think that I should open my eyes and look ahead to prevent headache/sickness? I feel like I'm spoiling the day for every one else when I'm sick and can no longer go on the rides.

What a brave man you are , feeling so bad on the rides but prepared to go back and do it again for your family.
Maybe you are just one of those people that can't stand the motion.
We were not build to whizz around at such speeds !!!
You could try keeping your eyes open and head back, see if it helps.
In my book you are already a hero for WANTING to give it another go !!!!!
Good luck !!!!

I've gotten that way over the last few years. My husband and I used to be able to ride coasters over and over, then over the course of a year, I slowly found myself getting nausious (sp?) whenever I stepped off the ones that loop everywhere. The following year, my husband was stuck with that feeling as well. We've finally resorte to taking Dramamine before we head to amusement parks. You can get it for pretty cheap at most drug stores, and it comes in a chewable form, in a container that's small enough to carry in your pocket. Dramamine is a pill for motion sickness, you take it about 30 minutes before you start riding coasters.
If you don't want to take pills, a good way to at least quell the sickness is to vary your rides. You don't have to hit all the rides at once. Take your time. Go on one or two rides, if you start to feel sick, take a break, grab some food, watch a show, then go back to riding. This way, it will give your body a break, and you can still enjoy your day at the amusement park without getting sick!

You're not alone by any means. And you're not spoiling the day for anyone unless they will only go on rides that you feel comfortable riding. But as long as they feel free to ride whatever they want, how are you spoiling anything for them? There are any number of reasons why it happens. Are you eating just before riding? Try Dramamine as someone suggested. Also, do try to keep your eyes open as your mind needs to be able to process the swift changes in direction. I went skiing years ago and if I sat in the back of the van as we drove along the winding mountain roads, I'd get sick. As long as I was in the front seat and my brain could process the location of the horizon (what our brains use as a visual means to keep us in balance) then I felt fine. Bottom line is you're not alone and there are options for you to overcome this. :o)

Haha. I always have kids running around excited about going on the ride again while glancing at the silly adult (me) turning green and throwing up in the nearest plant! There is no way to prevent it - I think our bodies are wired so that when we get past our teens we get sick from rollercoasters. Hmmmm....there must be a conspiracy theory in there somewhere!

It's keeping your eyes closed that's probably doing it, as you can't see what's happening or what's coming up.

Having said that, it may not be the entire answer, some people are more affected than others - and it's not a sign of weakness.

You won't be spoiling things for others, just say "No thanks, I can't ride on that." They'll probably admire your courage in declining. It's just like me not being able to eat cheese, just one of those things.

Well first im a girl. This has all happened to me before. The girl that you are mainly talking about is interested in you. Try asking her about herself and see what you have in common. If you have also maybe take it a step further and asker her out to maybe a movie and let her pick it. But think about asking your other friend and his girlfriend because it could be awkward in ways. If you know what i mean. Just take it easy for a week or so and see what you have in common and stuff. Ask you friend for help and ask his girlfriend to ask her if she likes you. And try easy flirting like I love what you did with your hair and stuff and basically make her feel welcome with you. Hope it helps

Some human bodies are just not built for such rides. May be yours is one.

My boyfriend gets sick on roller coasters as well. He has tried it many time, because I love them, but he just can't take it. There might not be anything you can do except avoid them.
