Wow, Now someone is finally in my territory. As I've told everyone hundreds of times,. I grew up on a dairy & produce farm. We had 55 cows, 200 chickens and bred the cows, also incubated eggs. Both are great. If you are looking for a better profit, I say a chicken farm Our gov. isn't doing much for the dairy farmer now and too many farmers had to sell their farms because they can't get gov. funding. It's a rotten shame. They would rather get products from other countries than support our farms. It's so easy to incubate eggs. Cows are so much more expensive to feed, The equipment you need to milk the cows is also very expensive. You will have to be out milking a 4 in the morning. With chickens, you don't have to get up early. Just remember, you need a rooster in the chicken yard, otherwise, you will not get any fertile eggs to incubate. Hope this helps your decision a little
One more thing, If you let the chicken sit on her eggs til they hatch, she won't lay another till her clutch is hatched. I used to have to collect the eggs every day, and my dad would sell them. You must collect the eggs every day if you don't want more chicks running around. It is a very profitable enterprise

It would be up to what you enjoy.
Chickens smell and I mean "Bad" when there are thousands of them. Everyday you walk through the House and cull out the sick and dead. Run the feeders and those type things. Some may feel it hard work, some may say it easy.
Dairy Farm not smell so much. But, you need more land, figure 1 cow per 1 acre or you be buying a lot of feed. And you do need feed and also hay in winter. Either you buy hay or bale your own. Connecting the milk machines and keeping the milk barn clean. It may seem easier than chickens. Go to the barn 2-3 times a day and the cows all lined up and ready. Then your time in between may be spent cutting hay and baling. Going to the Farm Supply. Some Vet work you do yourself, some you have to have a Vet come for Health Reasons.
Breeder Farm, I not understand, Beef Cows? About same as Dairy, only instead of milking you load and take to the Sale Barn where they Auctioned.
I never did these, but, know people who do. Talk with your "County Cooperative Extension Service" Blue Pages of phone book.
Chickens you are involved with a company like; Con-Agri or Tyson. They tell you want to do and how it done.
Dairy you involved with the Dairy Co-Op for your area. May be a Political Game. Also, research this. Some Dairy Farms are closing down as more milk being bought in South America.
Beef Cows you seem to be more in control. Load them, get in line and check them in, wait for the Auction and pickup the check. If, the cows are healthy then there plenty of buyers.
