I was kind of wondering, could I be gifted and or are most people the same? Here is my life in a nutshell(I am 16 by the way...):
Ok, when I was in year 2, about 8 years old, I read a book about electricity and just lit a light bulb (yeah lame, but that's how it starts). This got me interested in science and "making things". I made door alarms (about 10 years old) and I was quite advanced in science for my age(note:english was my second language so I only learned it in kindergarton).

Not much happened after that, I was even a little below average in my classes until year six(12 yrs old) when I literally went from average to smartest in the year, in maths. At the end of year six I pretty much knew year 7(high school) maths and topped that too...However, my scientific knowledge was that of almost year 9 and I was reading countless books on physics.

If I kept going I don't know what would have happened, but now I am into computer programming and electronics.

Just curious...

I work with children of varied gifts and handicaps everyday. It is God's blessing to offer us a gift of some greatness and share that gift with the world.

You have a strength in math, that is great! Not everyone can be that strong in other areas, only a few chosen students can do well in (what seems) all subjects, all the time. There is always a weak link in their chain, such as physical education, art, music, or attitude/personality. Nobody's perfect.

It is your obligation to use your gift as boldly as possible and let others benefit from this gift. You may find yourself working in an area of business that requires strong math skills and analytical abilities, but no science required. Search for these areas and offer your strengths to that slot. Also, bring your gift of math skills to others, such as students in need, tutoring underprivileged students, etc. You WILL be rewarded for your generous sharing of that gift and may prove to be the perfect teacher, should you choose to take that path!

Computer programing and electronics require a certain amount of scientific knowlege, so I think you ended up in a good carreer.
Obviously you could go further if you put your mind to it but that is up to you.
Imagine inventing a super computer, or a revolutionary communications system that would and could be used in place of the current ones used on the space shuttle.
Science is such a big field of study that i think it would be worth checking out if you are surrentlu unhappy with the job you have.

How old are you now?
I should think if you live in America you should be able to get a sponsor for a course in Physics .
Here in England we have a burgeoning interest in developing scientific progeny.
So surf the net and take advantage of your unique talent and brain

If you have good technical skills for computer programming and electronics and also have good social skills for interacting with people then you are probably doing well.

yes you are. gifted is being creative, innovative and thinking out of the box. if you get bad grades in class that does not mean that you arent gifted just because of that. there are lots of gifted people that are just too lazy to do work sometimes because they already know what they have to do, and they know that they can do it and they just opt not to. hope that wasnt confusing. but anyways, imo u r gifted.
