A lot of you have very accepting attitudes. Good for you, I think. However, I can't say that I am accepting as well.

Ignore the hippy. The fact is, there are stupid people out there, and as a collective, they do much more harm than good. Stupid people act illogically. They often make decisions that harm themselves, with no apparent reason. The problem is that these irrational decisions harm everyone around them. Society functions because people understand each other, and we all agree to a social contract, where we understand each other's reasons and decisions, even if we disagree. Stupid people destroy this contract by doing unexpected, harming themselves and others. Indeed, it is often much easier to deal with someone who hates you or is malicious, but acts rationally, than a moron. So, it's fine to hate the stupid for the net loss they contribute to the quality of life in this bleak world

Hope you don't think that way. Hate should be reserved for Monday mornings and ice cream cones melting in your hand and dripping on your pants.

And if you believe that there are stupid people, you may miss out on a lot of wisdom and talent and beauty. Don't get me wrong, people do stupid things all the time, but that doesn't make them stupid.

So to answer your question yes: it is stupid because hate is a destructive thing; and it is stupid because by believing in 'stupid people' you hurt yourself. Any knowledge or wisdom from these people will always be tainted by your label.

Peace

It is stupid to hate. Period. Hating hurts the hater more than the person hated. And who are you to judge who is "stupid?" Do you consider people stupid because they disagree with you? It seems to me that you need to examine your motivation. Does considering other people stupid make you feel more intelligent? Concentrate on what you can do well and stop hating other people. There is already too much hatred in the world. Hatred serves no positive purpose!

remember the movie, "forrest gump"? the quote there "stupid is as stupid does?"

thing is, stupidity is more of lacking in learning. can you blame them for that? so why be stupid about people being stupid? understanding their predicament would be much better. guiding them to the truth is much more humble than branding or hating them as stupid.

accepting people as they are is a humble approach of saying "i care for you whomever, whatever, wherever you are... and i will be there for you because in our veins runs the most precious of things.... LIFE".

in reply to the guy above - human beings act ilogically and stupidly because they are human beings, not machinery, not automons, not pure left brained logical pieces of equipment, not libraries, but real live flesh human beings full of faults and variations in character. If you can't deal with our reckless stupidity, naivety and humanity you're in for a rough ride.
