It's not a virus. It's a hardware problem. If it's more like 2-3 seconds when it goes off, it is the auto shutdown feature. It could be caused by loose cpu fan connector or by an overloaded power supply voltage rail.
After checking cpu fan connection, a PC technician would try to run the PC w/ bare minimum devices and would attempt to enter BIOS. If OK, peripherals will be reconnected one at a time.

As your computer is not getting to the point were it would be running any software (virus or otherwise) that is probably not the issue. That sounds more like a hardware problem. Most likely a bad power supply. You are probably going to need it looked at by a pro.

dont think its a virus. It sounds like a bad power supply. As soon as it heats up it shuts down. Could also be your motherboard.

I repair computers and see this all the time. Your power supply has bit the dust. It's real easy to replace and you can get one around from $25-40.00.
