Or Arab or Pakistani for that matter?
We'd have hundreds of threads about how "those people" bring illnesses to the "civilized world," no?
But now, it's all quiet in the Western Front.

Don't play dumb with me, people.
The media are going to overplay this because it's safe: in the end, there won't be a mob with pitchforks out there asking to lynch all wealthy white lawyers.
They couldn't do it if he were Black, Mexican or some other hated minority: it'd be a call to arms to many people who already wants to see anyone with a dark skin dead.
No, I don't mean the mainstream media. I mean here, in YA!
Had the guy been Abdul Sefaya or Jaime Rodriguez or Jameesh Brown, you can bet we'd have a field day around here, with hundreds of hateful "questions" and "answers" posted by you, my dear penguins.

All quiet? It's been on the news non-stop for three days. The mainstream media will really put the pedal down now that they've realized he comes from a blueblood Atlanta family.
He's perfect bait for the mainstream media. White, male, wealthy.

as quickly as lower back, you're particularly dazzling. If this guy became into an unlawful immigrant, i won't be able to even think of the form of shock from white united states of america. only like whilst that unlawful decrease than the impression of alcohol motive force killed that white lady in NC. All I heard from white conservatives became into "see, that's what illegals do in this united states." Even invoice O'Reilly pronounced those issues on television. because of the fact Speaker is a prosperous, white a**hollow without regard for persons, he gets off with a slap on the wrist. Plus, he's a lawyer so which you recognize he's have been given connections with famous judges.

Once again, you're absolutely right. If this guy was an illegal immigrant, I can't even imagine the type of outrage from white America. Just like when that illegal drunk driver killed that white girl in NC. All I heard from white conservatives was "see, that's what illegals do in this country." Even Bill O'Reilly said those things on TV. Because Speaker is a rich, white a**hole with no regard for other people, he'll get off with a slap on the wrist. Plus, he's a lawyer so you know he's got connections with prominent judges.

It's not all quiet on the western front. People want this guy's head. There are not many expressions of sympathy at all. Most people want the guy jailed.
Here's the key:
"Speaker flew to Europe for his wedding and honeymoon after being advised by health officials not to make the trip because he had TB. Then, while he was in Rome, U.S. health officials told him to stay put because further tests showed he had an even more dangerous, drug-resistant type of TB than previously thought.
The 31-year-old newlywed disregarded those instructions, taking commercial jets to Prague and then Montreal in an attempt to sneak back into the United States."
They guy sure has a set of brass balls on him. He is a scumbag, and obviously used to being "privileged." His frikkin golddigger wife was on T.V. and stated that they would have stayed put had someone in the gov't told them that private transport was being set to recover them and bring them back to the U.S. What balls!!!!?? Hire your own private transport, you big spoiled brats. And if you can't afford it, stay put, like everyone else has to.

Hmmm I must have missed the quiet in the midst of people demanding that he be thrown in jail and completely destroying him on every news channel. You may have a point about how it's having a different effect because he's white, but regardless, I think that people are all pretty disgusted by his actions and angry that he did this.

Suppose for a moment he looked like he came form somwhere in the middle east. Wouldn't he have been more readily noticed as a member of the no-fly list? Obviously border guards do not scrutinize everyone the same.

That's a valid observation, I'm afraid.
I guess if there is a bright spot, the case points out a variety of weaknesses in our quarantine system that we can hopefully plug before something worse happens.

let me guess you are not white and you are racist. What does color matter, or did you miss that in school? So what if he was yellow or purple, his color has nothing to do with that he is sick and endangered other people. This question says alot about how you think and what kind of person you are.
