I'm having perinial pain that is preventing me from having sex with my husband. I'm SO frustrated. I know it's different for everyone, but when should the pain go away? It's been 10 weeks, should I see my OBGYN even though they check me at 6 wks and said I was fine and could have sex?

I had a 6 lb 7 oz baby girl & a normal pregnancy. I had a 2nd degree tear during labor. I'm not in pain all the time, just when the area is touched.

How large was your baby? How difficult was your pregnancy/delivery? How much of a beating did your body take? How tired are you?
All of those things factor into this.
If you're not getting enough sleep and you had a tough pregnancy 10-weeks really isn't long.
Years ago they told women to wait 3-months. This gave them a chance for their bodies to get back in some semblence of shape and for them to get used to the babies schedule and catch up on some sleep.
The one issue is if you're in pain all the time or just when you attempt to have sex. You really shouldn't be in pain when you're just going about your activities - not real pain. If your doctor doesn't address this you might want a second opinion. There could be an infection that is going unnoticed and needs to be treated.
Good luck.

It can take a long time for the pain to go away. I still have slight pain at one year after birth. I went to my OB and asked why, and they said it was just the trauma of giving birth. Some woman have more pain than others. The bad new is that it lasts a while, the good news is that it gets better over time and each attempt at sex is less painful. Take it slow and use a lubricant like KY Jelly.

This seems a very long time to have pain. Definitely, see your doctor again. You may need an X-Ray or an MRI. Don't take chances with your health, especially at this time, when you have an infant to care for.
