Im really upset. I'm a manager of a small shop (but it's not my business). and one of the girls basically said she was quitting and then started screaming and shouting at me and swearing right up in my face calling me all the names under the sun and threatening me. I was left shaking like a leaf and have been on the verge of tears since it happened a few hours ago. I know it's silly for me to feel like this about a 19year old girl when I'm 25 but can anyone out there cheer me up?

Dont waste your tears on her. Revenge is a good idea!!! Just remember she will be working hard for years to come to get anywhere near the position your in. Think how much better you are then she is. Clever and beautiful.

~A cheerful thought...Paris Hilton's mom thinks that Paris is a great role model for young adults or inspiring teens. ~

The 19 year old girl was just mad at something that wasn't your fault, nor had nothing of your doing. She was probably just having a bad day, but it still didn't give her the right to yell at you. Many people complain about teenagers a lot, but I think adults have tempers quicker than any teenager has.

People will hurt anyone they possibly can to make themselves feel better, this being one of those situations. I've had a fair share of girls screaming in my face about the most worthless things under the sun, threatening to spurn me, hit me; but while their running their mouths I just stay preserved and calm, and that's what annoys them the most. I agree to everything they say, even if it's false, and they just stop arguing.

Just know that your better than that girl treated you and what she said were just words of jealously.

Do not be troubled with that nonsene, I have been in this kind of situation for several times, and you know what she is just an idiot this child. What will happen is that life will wipe her A**. You focus at your responsibility at your work, continue and dont let that make you loose the focus with other employees. My husband always says to me , never use your energy to something that will send you to hell, I mean wast your time with such crapp as that!!

She walked out of the job, what a looser. You are a winner because you are still a manager by the way. Bravo

Why did she quit? were you nasty to her? Did you deserve any of her rant? No? Then dont get mad, get even!

What were the threats? If there were witnesses who will back you up, get your own back by calling the police! And if she didn't give proper notice under the terms of her contract tell her you are thinking of taking legal action for breach of contract!

If she's that upset and you feel there are any grounds for it at all, call the police because if she's enough of a cow, she may have been trying to get you to react so she could turn around and sue YOU for unfair dismissal, watch out.

It sounds like this girl is somewhat upset at you for some reason, find out what these things are if they are your fault apologise and say you will try to correct them, if they are not your fault, apologise and then explain the situation. It sounds like you do care about what the staff think about you so go for it.
If the girl is trouble and no good at her job let her go, if she is good at her job tell her so and say that you would like her to stay and you will try to rectify the problems.
That is the problems with mangement positions you have to take this sort of crap.
Good luck
Important point...Just because you are the manager it does not mean that you are right.:)

OK sweetheart the girl really doesn't know the true meaning of respecting her elders. She probably treats her parents the same way. You did good if you need to take a break and let your tears flow. Don't ever hold it in. It will only get worse. If its any consolation I have been treated the same way. You seem like a really smart young lady and you will be fine. If you need to talk send me a message back and we will talk about it.

I've had that before. I used to be assistant manager at a homewares and gift shop. The abuse from other staff was unbelievable at times. Just think - you've got so much more going for you than they have. You're management material. You've got some drive. You gutter-mouthed little trollop will be a check-out chick for the rest of her life.
Smile. X

Hey,

Dont be upset by this girl she is a 19yr old idiot that has just demonstrated her immaturity, she was probably trying to impress someone but in reality she just made herself look a complete idiot.

Dont be sad, you are the manager at the end of the day, you can get yourself a different nicer mamber of staff to replace her, by the sounds of her her finding someone nicer will be easy.

Chin up, shes a joke.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

so its a sort of how does one overcome a situation like this in times like these lol well wen ever i feel like this i have a big mug of tea lol tea solves everything oh and also some ice cream. if its a minor problem get that stuff like asda's own ice cream but when it is a problem like this i would advise something like Ben and Jerrie's. then puts some jump around music on really loudly and dance round your home to it, then go on the biggest shopping spree the world has ever seen and don't let this person get to you

It sounds like you are better rid of her.....clearly the personal and emotional problems are all hers and she has shown herself up tp be what she really is.....

Be proactive and set the wheels in motion for finding her replacement...whether that is to place adverts locally, use a recruitment agency.......resolving the loss of a member of staff will make you feel a lot better I am sure!

Oh and the Sun's out, the weekend is upon us, and no-one has died.....so come on, raise a smile and laugh it off....!
