How do you tell your so callled friend that you want them to share the joys and sorrows of life together but when she was not there when I really needed her I felt hurt. I want to be friends but her not being able to be happy for my accomplishments really brings me down.

You kind of answered your own question: You can't.
Sure you can tell her how you feel but if thats what she natuarally does without thinking, good chance she'll do it again when you really want to rely on her. Probably a good "acquaintance" friend. Someone that you can share things with when she is ready to listen but sounds unreliable. Sorry to hear about the let down.

There are so many of us that want to be recognized for our accomplishments and look for this through the eyes of others. Most of the time this never happens and we feel deflated. Be proud of YOUR OWN accomplishments as your feelings are the only one that matters.

Then is she really a friend? Life is a series of choices. Friends are like flowers when taken care of they thrive, if not tended to they wither away and die.

So ask yourself in your garden of life is she a beautiful rose or a nasty weed....

Sounds like you need more than one friend or a better choice of friends. If you want her to be that friend let her know and ask her if she can be that kind of friend. I have friends that I know can't be like that its not in their nature but I have friends that are always there for me.
