I do get a feeling of accomplishment when I get points for a best answer and therefore I look at my `best answer` percentage to try to gauge how my answers stand up against others. Numbers of questions or levels are of no relevance to me - I can keep continue to keep my best answer ratio to between 30-35% then I feel it has all been worthwhile :)
I have to say though that I find it highly frustrating when people do not select the best answer for themselves and rely on voting and particularly so when the answer selected is picked on opinion and not content.
This is a far better use of my time during breaks at work than playing silly flash games - very like an online experience encyclopedia.

one time I have been given like 40 solutions on a query while i exchange into purely attempting to be a troll and when I do ask serous questions I purely get 3-4 now and back none in any respect that's extremely ironic

Sure, but isn't that part of the mystique, attraction and allure of YA?
If you are one to be very active and try and answer a lot of Questions, I mean with "serious" Answers, then you just never know when any of your responses can be chosen as Best Answer...it could be an Answer you gave four hours ago or even one, as you point out, that was voted on by the community four days, even four weeks ago.
We simply do not know what an Asker is thinking when it comes time for him/her to choose Best Answer...it could be based on the accuracy of the Answer, the way it was phrased or, even in the way we might include something humorous or interesting to try and separate our Answer from all the rest.
So, my point and suggestion is...keep your Answers honest, interesting and unique so as to separate your Answer from the rest and hopefully it will encourage the Asker to choose yours as Best Answer.

I have gotten the "chosen by voters" before. I never know what is going to have my answer chosen.

It used to happen to me but I haven't been chosen for ages. I think I've lost my touch. I doubt I'll get picked for this as I was so late answering...don't know why I bother anymore

You're so right! The questions that I feel I've answered spectacularly well sink without trace, my wit and intelligence lost forever; The totally throwaway stuff I write when I'm feeling dumb or angry or tired- that's the stuff that keeps me at 11%.
Maybe people just don't want intelligent answers-go figure!

Yes, especially when I think it was a good answer and the voters vote with 1 or 2,,,,that's a waste of time.
