Yes, definitely. Matchfixing means you give something to referee or your opponents, or threat them, so that you can win the match.

What's the point playing a match if, at the end of the day, the winner was determined beforehand?

I suppose it is but if you're referring to the Milan Match-Fixing incident then I again tell you to leave it for the peace. What's so good about desiring to do something and not being able to do it?! Really, there's nothing you can possibly change about the past.
