Hey, a penny saved is a penny earned. I have a lot of pennies from people like you that just throw them away. They add up to big bucks at the end of the year. A school janitor once told me years ago that he rakes in over $100 a month in change from students throwing coins in the hallways. Keep it up. You're feeding someone. :)

I love pennies~ Got a coin collection my father left to me when he died. I love to find change on the ground. Yeah, I guess I'm a weirdo. But I like pennies~

I think its time they gracefully retire.

I once took a whole jar of the stuff to pay for something and the dirty look the cashier gave me was enough to make me rethink using pennies ever again!

I'm afraid its time to move on!

yeah but give it a deadline so people can turn in the pennies that they are keeping in jars and ashtrays. Isn't the metal they are made of potentially useful for another application?

I agree with you. They are useless. And you can't get gas for them either. The people who pump your gas will look at you with hatred. They should be put in a museum forever. I have whole jar with them. Never use them. What's the point?

We got rid of them in Australia years ago. It didn't really make any difference to me. Now I have piles of 5c pieces all over the house.
