Every time someone new is nice, I think the worst! I like men but recently two old neighbours have come one to me and I hated it! I just don't trust anyone not to have an ulterior motive! The innocent get the same suspicion the guilty get!

It was two old men. My husband was 18 years older than me and he died recently. They think I need a damned replacement!! I have been cursed by having 'come to bed' eyes!!! Guys see me even though I let myself get fat so they wouldn't fancy me, as dying for it!!! They even used to come on to me when my husband was there and we were out having a drink. I wasn't flirting at the time, so don't even go there. Anyway, I find staying in does the trick. Except one of the old guys came in to the flat to give me his condolances, by his way of it!!!Then, I felt I wasn't even safe in my own flat!! I got onto the police because I couldn't live with my door locked day and night!!

I think in my case you took advice of somebody and acted without thinking. But I forgive you and it's behind us now. I wouldn't insult or hurt you.

When you say old neighbours, do you mean men who are old? Or former neighbours?

If it's old men, and you are single, they sometimes try their luck. If they have wives, you could mention it to them and kind of laugh about it, let the wives know you don't take the old men seriously, but in letting them know about it you're also letting them know that you aren't remotely interested. The wives will deal with them.

It's the older guys who should be more embarrassed to be behaving this way. I mean, really ....

Talk to a professional~there is probably something more than the old neighbors that makes you feel this way~Trust is a critical thing in life~Do yourself a favor and you will be happier for the rest of your life~

It takes time to trust and trust is built, not a right so when the time is right, you will start to lift your suspicion of everyone and everything

You've been hurt really badly by somebody in your past, and still haven't gotten over it. Once you get over that, you will trust again.
