I remember having read one case wherein a passenger travelling in a state transport bus in Tamil Nadu caught cold, because the ceiling of the bus was leaking. It was raining and water was dripping on him continuosly during the travel. Even the window was not seal proof and a thin stream of cold air was gushing in through the gap in the window glass door. He complained to the consumer forum and got a compensation of few thousand rupees for the inconveniences he faced. It was a cse of consumer rights violation. When the transport corporation is charging the fare, it is under an obligation to transport him safety and comfortably. The failure led to paying of penalty to the passenger.
