Apparently you have an interest in explosives, and, with the vast amount of politically-induced and controlled fear existing across much of the populace, making such interests widely known may not be in your best interests.
Nitroglycerine has been around for more than a hundred years, and has been used in various projects where blasting was required, but it has long been recognized that it is far too unstable to be considered safe, no matter who is handling it.
Nitroglycerine is best known for its earliest use as a primitive explosive, so it has earned a place in history thus your interest in it as a subject may be shared by many others.
Hopefully, pursuit of knowledge is sufficient, for it should be understood that the chances of the person who attempts to make it in anything less than tightly controlled circumstances continuing to maintain their bodily integrity are far from optimal.
Stated otherwise, should you wish to attempt making it, and literally have even the slightest thing not be perfect, the chances are very high for fire and for explosion, or both, and you stand to be seriously burned, lose limbs, or be killed.
It should be further understood that nitroglycerine has a well-established history of going wrong while being produced and in every aspect or moment of its handling after production. For these reasons it is considered highly unstable and is best left to its place in history,as it has killed and maimed many, many, people who had no ill intentions for its use.
EDIT
I came back to this subject to see what may have been added since morning, and I note Darkangel has given some information.
The information given by Darkangel is partly true, but very far from correct.
PLEASE note that having partial information or a simplistic explanation is far worse than none at all because it invites an attempt that is virtually guaranteed to end in disaster.
Making nitroglycerine is not very difficult, but the formula employed and the procedures that must be followed are critical, and any attempt at a short-cut will result in fire and/or explosion.
