According to my partner's 65 year old, never married aunt, yes. She once told me to leave her nephew because, "He's a man."
According to an 80 year old woman I used to caretake, yes. When I asked her why she never married she answerd quite passionately, "Because No Man is going to tell Me what to do."
According to my best friend from High School who quit dating in her mid twenties, and at 48 is still single, owns her own house, and assists with legislating curriculum, "I don't need a man."
According to my kids 52 year old second cousin, male, "I haven't found the right person."
He never married, either.......

Can you live without marriage? Yes, but not for long together, without a commitment. Without it there is no certainty, no continuity, no security. No reason to do the tough stuff, too easy to say good-bye. Not bad for some perhaps, but mucks kids around something shocking.

It sure seems like marriage is less and less popular. After the discovery of reliable birth control you would have thought people would have used it to better their lives instead of just using it as a way to be $luts. With women working more and making more money you would have thought families would be more affluent. Instead it just entitled women to take the kids and run. Leaving children without male role models and the example of how male/female relationships can actually workout for the better. Leaving girls to think men are just for stud service and men to think they are not needed in the upbringing of children.

society would have a very different makeup. in theory you could but where would the strength of structure and famly come from and what would subsitute for it. This sounds like one of those old twilight zone scripts but i think something similar would evolve as opposite sexes would ultimately seek out each other through natural sex drives needed to create future generations of man.

yes you can. too many people out there getting married and then get divorce.
try living together for 3 yrs like my son did.
and if it went smoothly and you truly love each other and get along after that long then marriage is next.
good luck Mrs.Boea

Yes and no. Depends on the person's expectations / perceptions.
Some people prefer to be single and still have partners. Some feel that it is good to get married to be 'complete'.

Of course you could physically. But if you're in love, you wouldn't even ask that question, because you would naturally be married.
Therefore, because your not in love, 9 out of 10, it will not work.
