A favorite (not "favirote" -- use your spell check!) teacher is one whom you admire above all your other teachers. This could be because the teacher has extensive knowledge of the subject he/she teaches, because the teacher knows how to present the subject matter to obtain excellent results, or many other reasons. I had a favorite teacher in 5th grade who was compassionate and kind to all her students and did not criticize them when they made mistakes, but instead helped them. I love her to this day.
