Country music is a huge genre of music and covers many different types and artists. To say country music is gone is a little ignorant. Willie Nelson is country. Toby Keith is country, he sings songs about the working class, about what everyday Americans are feeling-while he has changed a little as of late, but still he is country. Faith Hill is country, she veered a little to the pop side with cry and less with breathe but Mississippi GIrl has some great songs, like Stealing Kisses and Dearly Beloved. I think there are some artists who are pop country like Rascal Flatts, but they have brought fans over and introduced them to other real artistd

It's country, but just not in the same form it was before.
Things HAVE to change. People have changed a LOT over time, and so music and art and everything else has also had to change, or else it would have become stagnant and died out.
Someone said on a comment along the same lines yesterday that if music hadn't changed with the tastes of most people, we'd be listening to Beethoven's symphonies performed, and country music would never have been created at ALL.
Things have to change. It's called progressing. The old stuff's still around in abundance on many different radio stations. It's ok to not like the new stuff, but why trash it when I've seen few, if any, people on here trashing the old stuff. It's about respect. I love new country music, but respect the roots where it originated and would never in a million years say anything derogatory about the classic songs and artists.
Too bad most people don't have the same respect.

country music still exist, just not on commericail radio or top 40 radio, what ever you want to call it. It's not what is being mass marketed at this time, you know how the flakey public is, they like it today, hate it tomorrow. I 'm glad I got plenty of real country on records, tapes Cd's etc. You'll never hear what you call country back on mainstream radio, just like rock and roll stopped in the late 60s for rock, everything evolves in th commercial world, the golden age of country was roughly between 1948-1974, then it started to slowly chnge into pop then disco influenced and for the pst 20 yrs fialed rock bands, who where cowboy hats and talk abut there grandfathers rural roots, while grinding there butts atthe camara waving a rebel falg and singing with a forced extreme deep southern accent (Hank or Cash never sounded that way). Be happy that you can still buy or copy the music, Memories fade.

There is still Country but you just need to fing the right source of Country the song "Alyssa Lies" is a country song so is " Kerosene" like the best station I know of if you live in NC is either 106.1 the rooster and 102.3 the Country Legend both of those paly more Country then the rest and play alot of Old Fave's so just find the right place and Yes there is still Country.
I used to have that problem just listen to the words not the sounds.

Everything changes, but to say that Country music doens't exists is ludacis. Some artists are better than others, and some (Dixie Dorks...sorry, Chicks) are a complete disgrace to music entirely.

I think alot of the newer country is a disgrace. There are some artists I like, Josh Turner, George Strait, Brad Paisley ect. But I don't think alot of it should even be called country! I like a lot of the older stuff.
