did you start a new pill recently?
did you take the test in the morning? maybe need to wait a few days.
did you take the placebo pills (usually the brown ones)? your period is supposed to start during those ones and not during the regular (white) ones. Some perscriptions go for 3 months without the placebo pills because lots of us ladies prefer not to get our periods! like seasonel, check the small print on teh package.

If you just started taking the pill or recently switched brands the period can be delayed for a time because the body is trying to adjust to the changes going on.

I would also recommend getting in touch with your dr to let them know what's going on to see what they think about this, especially if you have been on the pill for a while and now having this occur.

a pack of birth control pills has 4 weeks worth: 3 weeks of hormones and 1 weeks of sugar pills. The hormones prevent you from getting your period. Therefore, if you have not taken the sugar pills this month, you cannot have your period. The sugar pills just keep you on track and allow you to have a period.

Hope this helps!

PS: Just for future refernce if youre interested, it is unnessicairy to have a period. you can skip the sugar pills and go straight to the next week of hormones and it's perfectly healthy.
