Talk to your GP/Doctor.

I would definitely suggest visiting you doctor and making sure you don't have any sleeping disorders.

Other possibilities could be too much energy. Often we can exhaust our mind and feel lethargic but still have a lot of energy. So some exercising, even dancing in front of a mirror might help burn off some of that excess before sleep :P

A back problem could also be the cause. I frequently put my back 'out of whack' and this disrupts my rest. Here I'd suggest a visit to a chiropractor or physiotherapist. They are great.

As a student, I do find it hard to sleep at times from stress. For this, I find 'sleepy-time tea' helps. Its a non-decaffeinated tea (yes, it actually has that for a name) that helps put you to sleep and keep asleep for a few hours in my experience.

Don't panic. There are plenty of people in relationships, which aren't long distance, who can only "get off" fantasizing about other people or situations. It's not a failing on your part it's just human nature. I'm pretty sure that my husband thinks about other women or sexual situations when he's sorting himself out and i know i do - most of them don't actually involve him at all! Don't worry, it doesn't mean that you don't love/fancy your man, just accept that it's the way your brain works and relax. Be glad you can orgasm at all - some poor people haven't ever had one at all! The more you calm down the easier it may be but if you can' then nevermind, it really isn't as awful as you may think.

Make sure you maintain a healthy diet, plenty of exercise and reduce stress. Cut out caffeine altogether (no tea, coffee or cola drinks), go for a long walk in the evening, Don't eat any meals after 7pm, taking a relaxing bath and off to bed. Hope this helps

you may have insomnia, ( I know i suffer from that to).. I have to take mild sleeping pills prescribed by my Dr.. first try out natural products, like St John´s wart or maybe a mild sleeping pill you can buy over the counter.. Then if that doesn´t help , go see your Dr...

Its awful to see everyone sleeping, while your up either watching t.v, trying to read a book ( to get bored) or on line. But if you get on line you get distracted..

So Hopefully you will take some of my advice !
Good Luck and take care!

Learn to relax...also going to the Gym in the evening can help having a good workout can make you feel tired. Failing this try take up some sort of meditation or yoga etc..

Good luck :)

First bit of advice is try not to worry that you are not getting a lot of sleep. It only makes you more anxious at bedtime. Next, go to your doctor. Then take it from there.
