Bravo!!.
Amigo, I am a seasoned actor and also a car guy. If you think the questions in here are inane, stroll over to the automobile maintenance and repairs page to find out just how scary ignorance can be.
We are all volunteers in here. We share our hard-earned knowledge and experience with the less-informed. We do not have to do this, but I feel better if I have at least tried to prevent some poor ignorant soul from making a huge mistake.
Keep the faith. Your advice may just prevent another starry-eyed youngster from being exploited.
That having been said, if I read one more Hamlet/Romeo and Juliet/Julius Caesar/Midsummer high school final exam question or a "My Car Is Making A Funny Noise???HELP!!"
post, so help me Pete, I may just...............................
Feel free to contact me through my Y! email, if you want to discuss anything.
Regards,

I agree that a lot of people go after acting for the money or fame. It's horrible. That doesn't mean that all of us are like that.
I also agree that most of the people asking about Disney Channel are teenagers who haven't researched. I am a teenager with no desire to be on Disney Channel. (I would much rather perform live than on a corny Disney movie.) Those of us who are serious about acting actually research and try to learn about theatre. Sadly, many of the people who end up with the roles are the ones who care nothing about acting.
As for your "final word", sometimes we honestly have questions and would like some help. Asking on here is one way of "researching", even if it's a poor one, and some people are at least trying. Most of us know that we aren't ready to do it for money, but we'd like to know as much as we can so that one day we may be able to perform for money.
For the "How do I become an actor?" people, that's a pretty dumb question. I agree that those people are also only interested in money. People should have more respect for acting, but sadly, they don't.

It's usually the fame and prospects of acting on television that get people, especially children, involved in theatre, but once they get in theatre many discover the art. I was one of those, and now I couldn't care less about being famous. I would rather teach others and get more and more young people involved in theatre. I don't know if I'm one of the answerers that gets on your nerves or not, but regardless, I don't answer unless I know that I may help. There are too many questions about Disney, agents and fame. Usually the best answer to those questions is to get involved in theatre first and develop a talent and find out a little more about it. I understand completely and that's why I don't answer those questions. It's that and the fact that I know more about technique and theatre than showbiz.

I agree. But the questions like that useually come from 13 year olds in bumblefuck, idaho. I'm an actor in NYC pounding the pavement auditioning my *** off and it's really annoying when these kids think that they need to run out and get an agent with their polariod picture and post it note resume (I've seen it happen). I think if everyone that is a regular on this catagory came together and just stopped answering these questions they would stop

Some people like acting for a different reasons for you, well I don't know for you but for me its because its wonderful to just not be yourself for a while and forget your problems etc be someone else and deal with their (normally much more easily solved!!) problems. Most of the people saying things like "How do you go on Disney Channel?" are teenagers who haven't looked properly and think it would be great to be famous, they don't know any better. And most people who answer questions with things like "Who knows" or "Go research it on the internet" are people who just answer questions for points not to help people, don't tarnish us all with the same brush, even if in your opninion we don't know what we're talking about why don't you asnwer the questions? I want to be an actress but posting questions on here like "How do I become an actress?" etc isn't much help, fine audition help or where to find info for a specific audtion but if the people ask questions like "How do I become an actor" of course there are going to be rubbish answers because anyone who knows enough about it to give a real answer won't answer becuase they think that they should know it themselves in order to deserve it, everyone has to start somewhere. So why don't you help them? It sound like you know a lot about acting and your contribution could help people learn more so that they know the answer to their own question, its not that simple for all of us.

I experience a lot of the same frustrations.
However, I find that, if I sift through the nonsense questions and really pay attention, I find enough thoughtful stuff to keep me coming back.
Hang in there.
