Well, although some can have their point of view....others can't it seems.
Pathetic & stupid, when you think about it, here they are all supportive of a couple that have unfortunately not got their little girl with them right now......yet are ready to put the same feelings into another person & worse still another child to go through the same stuff as maddy has been going through given half the chance.
Whom are these people REALLY supporting....is it the McCanns or just their own personal rantings?
Perhaps we should live in a world where we all think, eat, dress & look identical........very exciting.....not.
OOOOOH! surrounded by little control freaks I think, don't you?.....shows you too the extent of their brain power, when they make threats to someone that they have no location details of. LOL
Oh! tra la la la la if I only had a brain.....

Yes, it's true, the "Holier than thou" types are really showing their true colours now, aren't they? Threatening innocent children...then again, it shouldn't really come as a surprise, should it? These are the very people putting the feelings of the parents before Madeleine. I tell you, if I didn't have my little girl, I'd put my address on here so they could come round to me and get the kicking they deserve, evil scum!
Re Piltdown Man...fair comment, so seeing as you're the authority on this, what do you think Eden should do about this? Surely there is some legal jargon you can throw at her case? There must be some laws about sending threatening emails, especially regarding children, right? So help her, her only crime is being a responsible parent and saying she doesn't agree with the McCanns actions. Even if she was committng libel or slander, her children aren't, what about their rights?

I think it's disgusting that people should pick on someone else on here because of their views about anything. Like someone else has said, the McCann supporters should be ashamed to support a couple who obviously don't deserve children. If someone threatened my kids online, I'd go to the police too, so well done to the lady concerned and to any other McCann fans out there... Get a life.

Not a bad poem. The question's fair---and, I suspect, the answer telegraphs how useful the poet might be in the critic's role! I reckon roughly that one in eight of my poems is worth a second reading, and of that lot maybe one in four is worth a third. One day I might write a poem worth a fourth reading, but if I don't, that's okay. I MIGHT be able to nudge those numbers up a bit, if I were willing to spend more time in revision than I do. But I am not so willing; I got only 168 hours in the week, and I got purposes for 200 hours in the week. Somethin's gonna get starved for my time.

You should be careful what you say.
Everyone using the internet can be traced and judging by the content and invented accusations in Yahoo Answers against the Mc Cann family it appears to me that Libel action is justified.
People are traced first through the ISP and then the ISP can be forced by the Police to reveal who is paying for a particular account. The address can also be demanded from the credit card company.
Here is an outline of the Law
There are two versions of defamation, libel and slander. Libel is when the defamation is written down (including email, bulletin boards and websites), and slander is when the incident relates to words spoken.
In the UK, if someone thinks that what you wrote about them is either defamatory or damaging, the onus will be entirely on you to prove that your comments are true in court. In other words, if you make the claim, you've got to prove it!

Thats disgusting.......Don't tell me we have such losers on YA.
Where did you read this?
I repeat that there is no such animal as a McCann supporter. Everyone (except vile abductors) know (at least now) that it is wrong & terrible to leave children unattended. The McCanns blundered big time. No one can & is condoning that. What hurts me is seeing their every action, reaction, expression & gesture reviled & taunted. I believe that they will be charged for neglect & that they already face a punishment so no one should kick them when they're down. This doesn't mean i support them. I don't support murderers but i'm not for capital punishment. i'm so tired repeating myself. is my english so horrid that i can't make myself understood...will probably give soon to the delight of the witchhunters not that my weak attempts have made any difference...i could cry...why does something so sad bring out the worst in everyone...we should be looking for leads & praying & being positive. very sorry for the long rant but i'm going now to dry my tears...

I am not excusing that, but, please, put it in context.......
Well in any internet forum you are going to get nut cases
that sort of reply could be generated by any emotionally charged subject
I have had 'odd' (not actually threatening, but very weird) e-mails about my religious views, because of things I have written in that forum.
All the McCanns threads I have read, where the word 'Hate' has been used, are all from people against the McCanns.
I have seen a lot of people saying they HATE the McCanns, they DISLIKE their actions, they are EVIl, WICKED, etc, etc.
I have seen those views challenged, but never seen any direct threats against the 'McCann haters' (and there seem to be a lot of them on these boards)
So, Put it in context.... go and check the last 24 hours worth of threads about McCanns on YA,
see how much hatred is directed _at_ the McCanns
see how much hatred is directed at the anti-McCann brigade
I think you will come back here and humbly say that your opening post totally out of context with the real situation
I don't blame every Single Christian for the nutty e-mails I received, why do you want to blame every person in one (nebulous, ill-defined) group for the actions of one individual?
Edited to add -
So, now I see what you are saying... Is it possible that a few people who read yahoo answers may be mentally unbablanced ...
well the answer to that is obviously yes.
by the same token;
is it possible that some smokers have lost the plot?
is it possible that some presbyterians have lost the plot?
is it possible that some cat owners have lost the plot?
is it possible that some stamp collectors have lost the plot?
It is highly likely that, amongst the millions of people who write on YA, and who fit into those groups, there are likely to be some real nutters who will make threats based on some emotionally charged premise.
in short ; people who make threats = bad
I agree with that & I think any reasonable person should agree with that
But your question was written to denigrate people based on the criteria that they don't hate the McCanns.
weird!

hey Murica,
yes that was me. I had four e-mails all on the same day. I suspect at least two of them were written by the same person with multiple ID's. I did forward them to yahoo but also my sister in law is a WPC and she has them.
They basically said that they wanted to harm my children so that I 'knew what it felt like' and that I should be pay attention because my children could also 'disappear'.
Since no-one on here even knows where I live I'm not quaking in my boots, but I do question the McCann supporters who write on here that we who question them have no heart and no compassion
edit to add
while I have made my views about the McCanns known I most certainly have not ever used the word 'hate'. I don't know them to 'hate' them, neither would I wish to. Neither have I ever resorted to name calling or absuing others on here who hold different opinions to mine. or e-mailing anyone unless I have something positive to say
**Caesers wife**
maybe someone did write that, It wasn't myself or my children.
.
**supercritic**
are you calling me paranoid? Am I shaking with fear at these empty heads who made these threats? No. I'm just bewildered at the crass hypocrisy, that they openly support two irresponsible 'parents' who allowed harm to befall their child, but then in order to justify their love of these same people they resort to issuing threats to other peoples children.

No e-mail threats are acceptable. But I am not prepared to attack the McCanns. I like many others simply wish they find their little girl. If I had kids I would do anything to try and find them. I remember the case last year when a little girl was snatched from her bath, in the North-East (her mum was in the house at the time). Luckily she was found. It's all too easy to attack and find fault with others, but I fail to see how such behaviour helps. I'm sure emotions got the best of somebody, regarding the e-mail.
