Batteries wear out just like cell phone batteries. Their expected lifetime is 10-20 months. Your battery has a year warranty. If your battery charges even partially, there is nothing wrong with your notebook or your ac adapter (brick). Although it may be the connector not being lined up during your charge cycle. You may want to test the connection by holding the shaft and flexing the cord and seperately, hold the connector and see if pressure at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o clock angles makes a difference.

Battery Memory is not an issue, modern notebook batteries are Lion.

I agree with snake shah that the way you use your computer determines the length of charge!!

Having jsut been by this with my previous computing gadget, I recommend you purchase a sparkling one, i bought a replace battery, and it lasted longer for a pair months yet then straight away misplaced its ability to hold a value, it now no longer costs up in any respect. This befell over ~3 months. this could be an extremely undesirable occasion, yet its additionally correct. a sparkling computing gadget will final you longer and doubtless preform extra effective, besides the shown fact that it relatively is going to likely be a sprint extra costly. besides the shown fact that, there is not any ought to throw away your previous computing gadget, it relatively is going to nevertheless function completely without battery as long as that's plugged in.

Sounds like the problem the old Ni-Cad batteries had for Camcorders. If you only repeatedly topped off the charge, sooner or later, the battery developed a memory and only read the topped off charge.

What is your battery made of? Ni-cad or Lithium?
