I need to download anti virus updates but both www.mcafee.com and www.nai.com are timing out?

Both sites are live. You might have browser redirector, you might have AOell, you might have some issues with secure sites, you mght have some activex problems.

I am not sure about network associates but Mcafee should update automatically. Is your firewall allowing it access? If it is Mcafee's own it shouldn't be a problem unless the Windows firewall is also on.

I have just tried their website and no problem, although I don't use them. Have you looked at this?

Do many other sites time out. It is one of the few times you should use Internet Explorer (I hope you don't for normal surfing) as nearly all anti-virus distributors require access to Windows.

Of course you may not be able to receive updates if your package is out of date but this shouldn't affect your browsers ability to access their site.

Personally I would remove Mcafee (or any paid for anti-virus programme) and get AVG free.

Just remember you can't run 2 anti-virus packages at the same time.

Mcaffee total rubbish makes your system into a live snail get rid of it....

if your site browsing suffers the same then maybe check your internet connection. ^_^
