Two theories on that:

a) the universe was not made to suit us, rather we evolved over the span of billions of years to fit the environment around us, or

b) some universal deity created the universe to suit us, then created us to fit that universe.

There is no concrete proof of either scenario, although the historical record that we have found SO FAR better fits scenario a). But despite all the arguing, there are no real philosophical differences between the scenarios -- just the nitty-gritty details.

because if the earth wasn't so sheltering we wouldn't be here to talk about it, now would we?

the universe endless but not infinite, came into being from the big bang, what caused the big bang? quantum fluctuations? god? i don't know

umm not sure what equilibrium and harmony you're talking about. everything is moving and colliding stars live and die. i don't see the harmony and equilibrium. heck even on earth there isn't harmony and equilibrium, if there was then we would have no wars and there wouldn't be the whole global warming debate.

The mere fact that we are here is proof that this planet is a prime place for life to evolve, it amazes me that in such a violent place as the universe a place like earth evolved. it all stared about ten billion years ago with the big bang and scientists estimate that the earth was formed about five billion years ago. We are 93,000,000 miles from our star, a place so hot and violent it is hard to describe, and space is cold you can't imagine how harsh it is, out atmosphere is all that protects us from the ravages of space.

The Earth isn't all that perfect. When it is -40 in Chicago, I need at least a jacket. At 110 in Phoenix, a person could die without plenty of water. We can't breathe ocean water, or drink it either. If we allow ourselves to be exposed to the sun too long, we cook. It is the best we have, however, so we better start taking care of it.

Because we evolved in this environment, we are well suited to it. The universe is not endless, and we really have no idea how it came into being: all we can do is describe it.

The answer to your first question is that the Earth is so perfect for us because we developed here. Naturally we would eveolve in a way that the environment could support.

God created it and made it a suitable place for us to live.
The universe was created by God and we came from the dust of the earth
