In India u get to pay a huge bill in 3 phase for the same power u consume in a single phase in terms of power consumption.why?.please tell me the details.

Because:
1. You are delivered much higher voltage with 3 phases.
2. They have to use more cables and much thicker cables to deliver 3 phase.
3. Only industrial companies use 3 phases and electricity for commerce is sold expensive.

In every country electricity for household is cheaper than the electricity for companies.

It is more technical to produce. But, it is about 150% more efficient to use and the first answerer was wrong. It can be any voltage and the wiring only needs to be 75% the size of wiring used in single phase. Most of the world uses 3 phase rather than single phase.

the first answer guy got the first two wrong. Three phase doenst have to be a higher voltage and doesnt take huge wire to run. Dont know about the 3rd thing, but dont want you to get confused with his first two.
