so cynical i am not even sure if the gods and goddesses of ancient rome actually were and not just political representations of the original roman republic.like statue of liberty in u.s. so cynical i do not beleive kim iljong is a dictator. not sure if peacekeeping is peacekeeping, figure next bunch of human types will either misconstrue meaning of statue of liberty or deny civilization existed before them. that global warming cannot be stopped. people will continue to miss point of statement advanced tech indestinguishable fron magic.semantics of course it is magic is the same thing just under a different name. solar power, oil. if oil used up infuture people could say''you really expect me to beleive in oil'' this as opposed to magic well of course it wont exist just like nice people are a fairy tale.that is the true one not ogres and what not that people will be nice to you i think it has to be dispensed with. they also tell fairy tales that they are not to blame for their actions or they are special and should not or wont be wiped out well i do not know about that but i do not think there is much point in liking them

They used to say that we British were a nation of natural born sceptics.

Now I think we're just a nation of old cynics, who take the view that anything uttered by a politician must be a pack of lies, double dealing and lies, plus statistics and more lies.

How cynical is that?

We don't even let a politician speak any more. We get cynical soundbites of cynics who are just a bunch of sycophants looking to get a UK.gov job plus the monster salary and expenses account.

I've been robbed blind more than once by my own mother. The first time was only a few hundred dollars, but then the last time--the time that completely changed my perspective on the world--was when I was 19 and in college, and she stole and cashed my overage checks from financial aid. It ended up totaling over $3000.

I wanted desperately to press charges... but at the same time, she's my MOTHER, so I was torn. I ended up not pressing charges...

...but she has forever damaged my ability to trust.

So, yeah, if you can't trust your mother, who can you trust?

Short Answer: I'm quite cynical.

Now you probably wont believe this but I used to be known as Cynicman at work and one of the guys would draw a daily cartoon of me -mask/cape/pants on outside giving middle finger to all and sundry - really quite good for an amateur, and I used to think that he was managers nark - well just goes to show even I cant be right all the time.
(Thought I would get that in first before some smart alec beat me to it - as usual!)
OK, let's see if I can post first this time and stand the best chance(fat chance)of getting 'best answer'.

I believe in people until they prove me wrong, and even then i believe they made a mistake.
You either accept that people are basically decent, and you base that belief on your own decent behaviour, or you believe that people are bad - and that gives you a great excuse to be bad yourself.
If everyone strived to be the person they want to be and stopped using the excuses that 'the world is bad' and 'other people are bad' then the world would start to become a better place. Cynicism is a lack of faith in the goodness of other people, but much more importantly a lack of faith in your own goodness.
Believe that you are good, and strive to show it - hope is everywhere.

some areas very skeptical and cynical such as if psychics are real and Ladies will live up to their word in regards to marriage and money matters as well as politicians.

there are other areas in which I am not, so really depends upon the topic, situation and who the person is.

i prefer to say i'm cautious. i would 'like' to believe in the best of people & situations but as you grow older you gain 'wisdom' from your experiences. So i'll substitute your 'cynical' for 'wise' :)
