First of all, Tobey Maguire has not ruined Spider-Man; he enhanced Spider-Man with his unique charm, style, strength, and masculinity; inside and outside.
Second of all, Spider-Man did not make Tobey Maguire seem like a closet homosexual.
Third of all, why does everyone in the world, excluding me, think Tobey Maguire is gay? Just because Tobey Maguire is shy, sensitive, and super duper sweet doesn't mean he's homosexual. Besides, he and his best friend, Leonardo DiCaprio, denied those gay rumors last month.

Agree with a couple of the other answers, thats Spiderman - Tobeys done a good job. Spiderman was pretty much a geek with super powers.
Spiderman was my fav as a kid followed closely by Xmen

Nope, if you actually read the comics you would know this is exactly how spiderman is. a big geek with superpowers. He only seemed gay because of his hair in part three and, yes he got whiney about mary jane - again thats how peter parker was when it came to her.
I know i wont get the best answer because i disagreed with you but my answer comes from years of reading spidey.

Yeah, I got that impression in Spidey 3, in the scene where Peter and Harry took on Sandman. They'll be up for "Best Couple" for next year's MTV Movie Awards--believe that!

I agree with wolfatthedoor. You haven't read the comic books. I've bought quite literally a few hundred Spidey comic books (back in the 1970s and 80s and reprints of the 60s). You don't know the character.

I think he looks just like what spider-man should look like. I don't think they could have picked a better actor for the job!!!!!
