I'm in the same boat...about 18 weeks. I've felt these strange little kicks....not to sure if it's the baby or just my stomach muscles twitching from walking 5 miles....lol...it's such a strange but comforting feeling.
congrats!

In the beginning for me at first (around 18-22 wks) I wasn't sure if I was feeling movements or not. but then as the weeks went on it became very obvious when the baby would move. Its a hard feeling to describe but you'll know when it happens. It was my favorite time of my pregnancy, I loved it especially once she got bigger and i could see the movements and rolls. its an awesome experience enjoy it !!!

Yep, that's it. We all start out thinking its gas or stomach rumbling, or nervousness etc. We question whether we even felt it. Pretty soon it will feel like an actual butterfly has taken up residence in your abdomen with little flutters and an occasional thump. You are feeling the baby, try drinking a glass of ice water and laying down on your stomach for a little while. That usually makes the little bugger move around and you can feel it better. Good luck and congrats.

I remember it feeling at first like bubbles popping inside. Not
alot of bubbles, just one or two. When the feeling repeated
itself, then I knew it wasn't a fluke that first time. Or gas. And
I started holding my hand on my tummy and then I could tell
that it was actual little bumping going on in there. Not much,
but enough to know it was not something voluntary in me. It
was actually the new little life I was carrying. Time passes
fairly fast when you're pregnant, so enjoy those first few
months, when you can sleep at night :). Later, you might
need a pillow and will be sleeping on your side alot with the
pillow between your legs to keep from rolling over. It worked
for me anyway.

I first felt my baby move when I was 5 months pregnant. It was the most incredible and amazing feeling in the whole world. After that first movement, there is no denial that your little baby is in there. I was in bed with my husband when I first felt my little girl (bula) move. It felt like a little wave inside of my belly. It didn't hurt at all; it was just a strange feeling of a little wave going from right to left. I was so excited! I could never forget that feeling.

For me, at first it felt like tiny bubbles being blown in my very lower abdomen. You'll feel it below the belly button, not above until later on.
It then started feeling like butterflies but lower down... you know, the butterflies you get when you're nervous? Exactly the same but lower down than they are.
After that I started getting prodded and poked and they were DEFINATE movements...

Yes.. it starts out like you are describing. Kinda like butterflies or popcorn popping. Then pretty soon you will feel them get much stronger! Then you will know for sure. It is harder for first time mommies to distinguish between baby and gas. I am 15wks and just felt my baby move really strongly 2 days ago. This is my 3rd pregnancy though. Never ceases to blow me away either =) Congratz and happy baby baking!!!
