Hmm...I think we will always be linked no matter whether we die or not. If it took energy to make us, than that energy must continue on somewhere right (let's say the soul)? So death really is just a separation of body, not of the soul. Like I said we will always be united somehow (thoughts, presence, etc.)

Death is the beginning of eternal life when body and soul will someday be united with God and all his children who have lived their earthly life according to his word.

Don't believe any of the answers... no one has any experience about such matters. The only thing that we can be sure of is that death makes our body incapable of serving us any more... well does that not mean that we do not end with the death of the body? It looks highly logical to me that we would continue to exist after death, but the existence would not be physical of course.

Separation of soul from body?
-Probably.
Unity of soul and universe, existence, whatever?
-Ditto.

So, both.
But on a more person-to-person basis, I think it depends if you die philosophically 'kicking and screaming' and thrust yourself away from others or isolate yourself before death -OR- if you accept your place and the fact that, unless you are a bad t.v. reality show, you have to die eventually.

Birth is the separation, death is the unification. Unless you figured out how to do it while still living.

Love and blessings Don

Death is not a separation, it is a normal and simple step on our way to fulfilment...I think...if you really cared for somebody, he/she remains with you, in your heart and your thoughts...so death has no power over love...I suppose...

Our spirit leaves our bodies and where we go is determined upon whether we accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.
