No, and I think the whole system of knighhoods is ridiculous! Surgeons, nurses, doctors, policemen and firemen who give their all for the public and comunity, and who at times put their lives at risk deserve it more. Oh, I forgot to mention anyone in the armed forces too - thank you all. Footballers, celebrities, politicians and the like? Why?

Don't talk bloody daft. What has he done to deserve a knighthood, exactly? Bobby Moore never got one and he was ten times the player, captain and man Beckham will ever be.
There are still a couple of members of the 1966 squad who still haven't even received MBEs.
Besides, there are far more worthy potential recipients in other walks of life. The honours system has become one big farce.

Exactly!!!!! What has he done to deserve it.
I bet he doesn't pay Tax either by living abroad and continuing to live away.
What about Victoria, how on earth can she be classed 'Lady Beckham' Now that's a joke and another debate
I think they should give it to Alan Shearer, at least he gave over millions of his testemonial game to charity.

No he's too young. He went off to Madrid because he got chucked out of Man U, he is more or less a tax exile and is forging a career in the States. What has he done except be a fashion icon? The tattoos are also a bad example. He already has a CBE, so enough is enough.

you may as well ask the question, should he stand for parliament, the answer is no. but no doubt when he settles in in los angeles, he'll stand for election, and fools will vote him in.
being a ponce and marrying a stick insect does not qualify you to be knighted. maybe when he finishes playing, he might give something back to the game that has given him so much.

He can have one when he's won something significant internationally, and only if the remaining 1966 squad all get them first.
As yet he's done precisely nothing to deserve one. It's getting a bit mickey mouse as a prize anyway.

I think Steve F said it best!
This is the shiniest example of taking the piss, next to the whole "Richard Gere-Shilpa Shetty-kiss-on-cheek-now put-in-jail" debacle!

Yeah why not, they don't count for much these days, you will soon be able to get one of a box of cornflakes !
He deserves it anyway, look how long he has stuck by that twig of a wife, it can't have been easy, lucky she has got a few quid.
