Hi Zail,
Ye it is a personality quality not circumstances. It is people who change thier circumstances and not the circumstance that sholud change peolples behaviour and action. Those who have the personality of honesty and loyality don't even think of cheating.

it comes from people's want for sex! it's not like it's communal or like there's a club (other than online dating sites with just that purpose). It may be
One;
Some people will love their partner, but may fear the relationship is entering a new level of seriousness. You have to recognize that before the "taken" person exists the bachelor or bachelorette has to end or die (metaphorically). And you may be in a relationship quite some time before this part of the brain kicks in.
Two;
During the first year of a relationship with somebody who just fits into a person's life, they'll have a feeling of euphoria, and life just feels unnaturally good. Unnatural, because having that feeling for too long may be a result of some mental illness (or junkieness), therefore the brain, usually just after the first year of a relationship will settle into it's normal everyday state, you may be happier than before the relationship but everyday will just feel like another day and the euphoria of the relationship is numbed. Many people don't want to stick around for what happens after that point, and like a junkie they'll look for another high.

I'll try to be the least sexist as I can, but men have this phenomenon more than women because men in relationships don't want to settle problems but want to go on with their lives.

i think both. i think personality or lack of and circumstance, a weak individual whos not getting any will give in to any temptation but then again there are men who are married and play happy role and still cheat so yes both not one more than the other play a role in cheating

Personality and finding or perhaps looking for the right circumstances. Curiosity might be a better excuse.

Personality!

I cheated on both husbands!
I felt like it so I did it, I do feel some guilt but all that much because I cheated on 1st husband when we both knew it was over and I wanted sex and he said NO!

I cheated on 2nd husband because he was a prick and needed to be taught a lesson!
Then we tried to swing for a few years Youngest son outed us to everyone and I wished I was only cheating NOW!

Personality.

Circumstance is an excuse, like oops I fell own.

Oops, just happened to have an affair.
Women in a commit ed relation ship are supposed to resist the advances of men and men are supposed to resist the allure of women.
I think it actually takes a lot of work to have an affair. Never just an oops.

I'd say it stems from dis-satisfaction in the relationship they are in. And the inability to resolve any issues before moving on to the next lover.

Circumstances more then personality.

i think it varies, some are serial cheaters..some cheat cos they are unhappy, and its an escape from a sad and dreary life..

its a human need to feel loved, and if you dont feel it, and arent shown it...
you find someone who will..it dont make you a bad person, as long as you learn from it...
depends what you count as cheating too... mental or physical??
