When I was a kid we always said chips...like a burger and chips....Now I say frys...Unless I'm talking fish n chips.

We call them chips in tanzania
but when I travel to US I call them fries (cause chips are used for gambling)

I think chips are different than fries in the way they are cut and the oil they're cooked in. chips are much better.

chips are thick slices&fries are thin slices.we call them chips(slap chips)
