That's a riot! A big Brian is smarter than a small Brian...it reminds me of the laptop I bought at a garage sale...the owner named the hard drive Brian...I asked him what it said, and he said it was the brain of the computer so he named it so...I decided not to tell him he spelled brain wrong. I will tell you though...you spelled brain wrong.
I believe the larger the brain, if there are no abnormalities such as swelling, or problems related to some retardation the person will become smarter, provided they are exposed to knowledge.
There are some people with brains much larger than a dog, yet they cannot learn to obey their superior as a dog might, nor are they able to perform tricks.

In general a larger brain will yield a smarter person...there are exceptions to every rule. I heard there was a study conducted among 3 races, Asian, Caucasian, and African...the Asians had the largest brains, the Africans the smallest, in general the i.q.'s of the Asians were highest, however there were Africans with higher i.q's than either Caucasian or Asians in the study. I think it may be related, however I think everyone without learning disabilities has an equal opportunity to be smart.

Absolutely not. In humans, the female brain is smaller than the males, comparatively speaking. I've met many of women younger and older MUCH smarter than I am.
As a matter of fact the person with the highest IQ in the world just so happens to be a woman, Marilyn vos Savant.

Intelligence in animals has a strong correlation with their encephalization quotient (EQ). As the person above said this has to do with the brain to body mass ratio.

The crude SIZE of the brain, is NOT linked scientifically with smartness....the Intelligence and personal capabilities, however, are linked to two factos: The thickness of the gray matter in that particular area of the BRAIN, and the number of folded gyri on the surface of the brain.....EXtended on a surface, and with gyri flattened to the true surface, the normal human brain, will cover in average.2,7 square feet,
That measure is more related together with the thickness (number od synapsis between upper neurons) in the surface of the brain.
Other factors, like the cranial capacity, size of the head, dexterity, gender, are dependent variables, not related directly nor statistically with intelligence
Go to www.medscape.com
or
www,medpulse.com
There find the individual works, that statistically relate those factors among each other...(for instance, dexterity and intelligence, cortical mantle thickness and intelligence etc)
I am one collaborator author in many of those

No this isn't true. As you continue to gain more knowledge, and therefore become "smarter", your brain does not get any bigger. What happens is there are more connections made inside of your brain, the more you learn, the more connections made.

No, it is not the absolute size of the brain that is important. It is the ratio of the mass of the brain to the total body mass. You can try to set up a correlation of the ratio to the intelligence level.

Modern studies using MRI have shown that brain size correlates significantly with IQ among adults of the same sex (McDaniel, 2005).

No.
There were recently some whales lost in the Sacramento river delta for a week. There is ONE way in and ONE way out.
"Duh - I'm a stupid whale. How do I get out? Wish my big brain was useful for something other than getting lost."
BTW, it's "b-r-a-i-n."
