top of so many females lists of priority's are things like shopping for designer labels and bitching about those without them, going out clubbing to celebrity clubs hoping to become one of the many ''celebrities'' we have today that are famous for sod all except excessive clubbing and shopping, we see them on programmes like big brother saying that their ambition in life is to become a ''WAG''...wives and girlfriends of footballers, to these people i say get a life and get a job, i find this ambition disgusting, where have all the decent down to earth girls who have a good personality rather than a designer handbag gone? i know which i prefer, obviously there are some exceptions but today there seems to be so few, has greed become the plague of the 21st century?

I have to agree with you on this point. I've never understood why women line up at the door for shows like "The Bachelor" or that "Flavor Flav" show on VH1. They all look like ridiculous fools, crying all over themselves about wanting to be "picked." There are a lot of shallow women out there. I've always had a hell of a time being able to find really good, down to earth females to hang out with because half the time I'm just completely on another wave length it seems.
I worked with a girl who would often spend $600-$800 on designer purses. Yet she lived with her mother and had a small son. When I asked her if she wouldn't rather have a place of her own for her and her son instead of those purses, she just laughed and said "not really." And this young woman had some serious criteria for what her future husband was going to have to accomplish. He was going to have to make a lot of money, totally support her, have a nice car, have a house. It was like, hmmm. To me it was just a really old fashioned way of thinking.
Other women I know are absolutely big on having big houses filled with as much expensive junk as they can cram in them. Now I love to have nice things, don't get me wrong, but it's certainly not my highest priority.
Ya, it certainly bugs to encounter these types of women all over the place. But you know - what can you do?

I don't think that society has changed that much.
It is simply that we have allowed the media to make us believe that is true.
The "WAG wives etc are only as powerful as you allow them to be. Don't discuss them and they will fade away.
To paraphrase a well known TV personality " The entire country has ADD. They won't remember for long!"
Everything is cyclical and you will see public dissent and unrest amongst the young start to come back in about ten years time.
In the mean time I get exactly where you are coming from!!!

This is a good question. Not all women are like this but you do notice a typical stereotype, especially here in Melbourne. These women are; conceited, petulant, generally not educated, have to work, do not have a career, regret having kids, married to a mongrel, wear or use designer copies, envious, aspire to be someone like Paris Hilton and holiday in Ibiza! You can keep them!

greed is the 21st century plague...we have become a must have now and it must be the best culture...people have been given things for free for so long that they now come to expect it...almost as a right! get rid of the welfare state and stop glamorising dopey young tarts as the perfect way to be and it will soon change womens attitudes. what they dont realise is that it is just another form of oppression!

I'm sorry you are so cynical about women. Hopefully you will find the kind of girl you are looking for.

Because men have put so much pressure on us to be the "perfect woman", hot body, bitchy attitude, and of course we must look our best to be seen with them.
