Log in to the old router and check the WAN/Internet setup page. Copy down the settings that you see there.

Then using a cable (not wireless) connect to your new router and be sure the WAN/Internet setup matches that or the old router. That should allow you to connect to the internet, if so its just a matter of getting the wireless setup to match.

N is supposed to be backward compatible with G/B so it should work. The settings (SSID, and security) will need to match your old system unless you want to setup NEW wireless connections on all you computers.

That should get you working. If that fails you might also need to "clone" the old routers MAC (some systems authorize by that). The MAC is the hard coded physical address looks something like 00:AB:CD:EF:XX and may well be printed on the router lable.

specific hence. Brick partitions of course weaken the sign. I certainly have a instant router downstairs in my domicile and a clean laptop upstairs... and that i've got a good sized domicile. of course, this makes the sign susceptible. i bought a Linksys instant G Expander. return the instant N Router and re-installation the G Routher. Then purchase the G Expander. this would strengthen your WiFi sign. It expenses style of $a hundred and you ought to purchase it from BestBuy. merely plug it into an electric powered outlet close on your laptop, and carry down the "automobile-configure" button for 5 seconds. this would clean up the problem. *ought to be an open sign, no longer risk-free. no count if it is you will ought to apply the disc that contains the expander to place in it on your laptop.
