13hrs @ about 1.2 kw = 15.6Kwh @ 12p = Max of £1.90. Allow for thermostat cycling and it probably cost you about 75p-90p. Your'e lucky you didn't burn the house down!!

Yes! But probably about the same as leaving a single bar switched on, on an electric fire, or maybe a bit less. Your iron probably switches itself on and off. By that I mean once it has reached the heat level set by you, it will probably just switch off, cool a bit then come back on again. So maybe it has not been on for more than 8 hours out of the 13.

Not a small fortune, no.
However, the issue of safety is probably more to be concerned about.

I saw an iron in a shop that switches 'off' if not utilised after so many minutes.
Clever, but hugely expensive.
Cannot win can you?

What time shall I bring my shirts over ?

Irons do use quite a bit of electricity but over the course of a month when you have to pay your bill i doubt if you would noticed the increase as ive done that myself.

Hardly anything , very low voltage. Thank goodness it didn't fall over or start a fire.
