Would I kill my tadpoles if I gave them distilled, or spring bottled water?

The spring water would be better for them than the distilled. Distillation removes all the mineral content from the water, while spring or tap water contains calcium and magnesium for bone development and pH buffering.

It easiest (and cheapest) to just use tap water and let it sit for 24 hrs to remove chlorine (if this is what your water company uses) or adding a product to remove chloramine (the chlorine alternative). I've raised American toad, bullfrog, green frog, spring peeper, and wood frog tadpoles, as well as axolotl and spotted salamander larvae in tapwater.
