I'm certain their team of advisors keep them briefed about how the public are viewing them. That's why we saw Mrs McCann go to such great lengths to let us all see her kiss and hug the twins before she left for the vatican. I'm also sure they probably couldn't care less about anyone who doesn't worship and revere them because in their own eyes they are already legends

I think it's the minority that thinks their behaviour is offensive. I, for one, do not think that looking for your little girl who has been abducted is offensive. I don't think that holding yourself together for the sake of your other children is offensive. I don't think accepting the Pope's offer to meet with him was offensive, or the acceptance of using a private plane, or going to Madrid,Morrocco etc to publicise their daughter's disappearance, is offensive. Remeber that russian girl who was found in that man's basement after being kidnapped off the street on the way to school, 8 years before? if only the neighbour, who had seen something odd, had reported it at the time......... that is why Gerry and Kate want to keep this in the public eye for as long as possible, because it will soon be yesterday's news otherwise.
And if you look at the photograph in the Sun this morning, you will see the picture taken from the balcony of their room, and the Tapas bar was literally a stone's throw - it was like having dinner in your garden just like Gerry had said.
How you can not have any compassion for these people at a most awful time like this I will never know. Let's hope nothing like this ever happens to you.

No, i don't think we can do anything to let them know that their behaviour is a disgrace. I should imagine that any emails sent to them asking awkward questions are deleted anyway.
The problem is the sycophantic Media, especially Sky, who treat them like celebrities. After Prince William ditched his Kate, they needed a new perfect couple, hence Gerry and Kate Mccann - "The perfect Parents". But the Mccann's need to be aware that our media have a habit of building people up, only to tear them apart.

ok so what happened happened, just like the mistake they made by leaving them alone, they should never have done it and it will be with them for the rest of their life. .. but hold on a min, why has it taken a little white british girl to go missing for all this media coverage, do you know how many other people go missing, lets say a little black girl freshly arrived as a refugee in portugal or spain goes missing because she was abducted and killed, not becase she was left home alone and maybe an opportunist grabbed her.....media coverage....NONE!! evry human being should be treated the same in this case, not one that will make good media.
finally , may she be found unharmed and safe and well and ma god be with her family in this stressing time.
RANT OVER!!

You would hope so wouldn't you
The media aren't stupid though as they to are human beings and they play a very clever game.
They must be finding the actions strange , But maybe it's a nation of incensed people that are buying the papers to see what ridiculous thing they are going to do next maybe it's the same nation of people that will buy even more papers when the truth comes out .
I said this before - It's the media that are building them up and it will be the media that brings them crashing down .
The media myth of "perfect parents" is a great headline but also imagine the headline "parents who didn't care"

I've said similar before that they can hardly hope to make a story in the papers every day, it's impossible because something will overtake it and they'll fade into the background. However it seems to be their mission to keep up THEIR profile, so no publicity is bad publicity. When they find themselves alone and all the media attention have gone off to follow another story, that is when they will have time to think about what they have really done.

I agree that the statement "we've all done it" is unacceptable. No we haven't by a long shot. However in the circle of people they mix with it may be true. Personally I think it's a excuse given to ease the emotional guilt that they are going through.
To me leaving kids of that age unattended is a breach of parental responsibility. However I'm sure that they are punishing themselves more than enough. The crusade to keep the issue alive in the media is probably their best option at this moment.
I wouldn't send any offensive messages, neither would I wish them any harm, however neither would I be prepared to offer them the cop out of we've all done it. They took one hell of a gamble with their kids well being fooling themselves it was an acceptable risk.
My sympathies go to the child hoping she is alive and well, but somehow I think it will probably end up with the discovery of a body.

I must admit at the start I was all compassion and stuff. Now I'm just bored, and I am wondering now. Have they set this up for the money involved and the coverage and celebrity ststus they've been given. I mean meeting becks? The Pope? WTF? How the hell is that going to help maddie. Sure more coverage, but they already dominate evry channel I watch as it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always treat it with a pinch of salt.

I think we should be telling the government to charge them with neglect rather than telling the McCanns how much they are annoying us. There has to be consequences other than obtaining money from neglecting your children.
