Prior to the shooting of Spiderman 3, Tobey Maguire had back problems. Jake Gyllenhaal was then considered as a replacement and preparations had begun for him to be the new Spiderman. But then Tobey Maguire announced that he could do the role and so he did. So I have a few questions-
1)Do you think Tobey Maguire is good as Spiderman?
2) Will Jake Gyllenhaal make a better Spiderman?
3) Do you think there is any other actor who could be even better?
Give reasons for your answer. (Is this sounding like a question paper in an exam? Uh, that's not the question here, though)

1. Tobey Maguire is awesome, beautiful, intelligent, and super duper as Spider-Man.
2. I'm sorry, but Jake Gyllenhaal would not make a better Spider-Man at all.
3. No, I don't think there is any other actor in the world who could be a better Spider-Man.

I would really hate to see Tobey leave the franchise, but I think that Jake has the look for Peter Parker. His acting skills are great also. I don't think he would be better than Tobey but pretty close. The more I been debating this the more I think if Tobey isn't in Spidey 4 then they should recast for the whole film and make it a fresh start for another trilogy.

1. Tobey Maguire is good as the spider-man, he gives justice to the role.
2. Jake Gyllenhaal MAYBE a good spider-man coz Tobey and J have pysical similarities that's why producers wanted him to do the new Spider-man if Tobey can't. For me, they can be brothers.
3. I'll go for Matthew McConaughey

Jake would be all right I guess. So far I don't think anyone can beat out Tobey. He's by far the best. He's got the whole naive, nerdy thing going. Jake's got that I know I look nerdy, but I'm really cool and have a dark side to me. One guy I thought would make a good Spiderman when they talked about making a Spiderman was Matthew Broderick. He's got the whole goody-two shoes thing, too. This was back in the Ferris Bueller days, but now he's starting to show his age. All I know is I'm glad Nicolas Cage didn't end up playing Superman. I know that he's one of the biggest comic book fans out there, but I just don't see his face in that suit. Well, peace out true believers...

People are too used to seeing Maguire as Spiderman now. Having someone else play that role now just wouldnt make sense.

well.. because since the first time spidey appeared tobey maguire has been in that role.. i think it would be really weird if we see someone else to play spidey.. i think tobey's good dunno if jake can grasp the idea and innocence dat tobey brings to spidey... tobey's the best for the role..

I think Jake is so hot so in look sense yeah he would make a better spiderman but I mean since toby started out with it, it would not be the same if they replaced him

1 Toby is great! his acting was what help make the first one such a success
2 no, Toby started it , he should finish it! that should be sufficient enough
