I moved to the mountains about 2 years ago. I moved 350 miles away from my family. I miss them, but I will not leave here for anything. Does anyone else feel this way. My family doesn't understand and I can't explain it to them.

I think its some kind of caveman instinct. To explore and be in the wild natural evironment. These places satisfies our primal instincts that have been passed down thru evolution. And when we manage to be there, it gives us a calming feeling or a feeling of achievement. It also gives us a feeling of being at home. Being one with nature. Where the air is fresher and surroundings....soothing.

That is understandable if you like mountain sports such as mountain bike riding, skiing, hiking , rollerblading using the touring models, or simply breathing in the air at a higher elevation.
As for an explanation, it could be as simple as having found a job nearby, or "just because". It can be a "phase" and you will be drawn to the sea next time.

I feel the same so often... Feel like I wanna go far away from here (far not in steps or miles but in thoughts), far away from the noise and tiredness or every day struggle called life, from million meaningless voices around me... Somewhere where its prefect peace - where I can enjoy every drop that falls, every whisper of the trees, feel sad for every snow that melted... Where I can just be myself and not a doll on the stage acting my life...
Maybe its just coz we are cowards.

mountains are very beautiful. Maybe you just LIKE mountains. If there's a spiritual reason...then maybe you were a mountain dwelling creature in a past life, or the mountian spirits just like you and make feel welcome....etc.
