If there truly was a person, Jesus of Nazareth, then he may be been one of the many "holy men", who seem like "loonies" to others, but are possessed of very strong spiritual visions we do not understand. I find the followers of Jesus today, the ones who insist on his "truth" (and will be giving me thumbs down for my own opinion on Christianity), more like the "loonies" you speak of - few of them have the spiritual visions, and many want force their beliefs on others.
Remember, this is the History category, and not the Religion & Spirituality category, even though the person asked may have used an objectionable name - "loony" - I trust the person who asked this question is looking for objective answers, and not quotes from the Bible, or the opposite for answers.

point there. did Jesus say anything about there being one God or was that attributed to Jesus. i do not agree with the one God or any God existing for that matter. so you ask was Jesus a looney that said only one God was valid that could be considered arrogant. still Jesus would be no more looney than Mohammed or Muhhamed.one of which founded a religion and is a recorded historical figure. so to which Jesus is it you reffer the legendary or scantily known Jesus. legends have been built around Presidents no more real than those of Jesus an entire western mythology as well

Jesus may have existed as a person, but he was one of many people who needed attention during his time period. Lot's of people preached in public and had followings in ancient Rome. He had some good ideas and good intentions, but had some major emotional problems as well. By definition, yes, he was loony.

It wasn't Jesus that was a looney...it was the millions of loons that exonerate an ordinary man as a diety.

Hello dear!
If this is a HISTORY session, why are we addressing mythological questions here?
Is there a proof of his existence? I haven't found yet one!
