I dropped out of high school and didn't go back to college until I was 34. I got my masters degree at 37. Life is not a race, it's a journey. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. There will always be people who have achieved more and many more who have achieved less. What matters is that you are getting an education. 27 is so young, you still have time to achieve anything you want.

Nicole! I am much older than you, but I do know exactly how you feel - right now I have no close friends or relatives and we are just getting through a hard winter where I was pretty much closed up inside for several months. I won't go into how I feel - but you have your whole life ahead of you and you can't let three people make you miserable. You say you only have 20 more school days until you graduate - I'M PROUD OF YOU YES I AM SHOUTING IT1 And you should be proud of yourself! Don't give that up now just because a bunch of know-it-all kids are making you uncomfortable. Hold your head up high and walk straight ahead - if they say something to you that you don't like, just ignore them - because they are the losers - Get your diploma and start looking ahead to making friends - those people are not your friends or they wouldn't treat you the way they are treating you. There are lots of people out there who want to be your friend - put a smile on your face, hold your head up high and say hello to everyone you meet - you'll have more friends than you'll know what to do with. I'll be thinking about you today, tomorrow and 20 days from now when you graduate. You go girl!!!!

I like Zhimbus's answer too.

I was 21 and got pregnant while i was in college. Then i married and had 2 more kids. I am now 26 and have been fighting the feeling that i am falling behind because the times i have tried going back to school have failed due to family duties. But on the family and love part of the journey, I'm doing great. One of my older sisters just got her bachelors in Design and there was a woman in her graduating class who achieved the same degree but she was 65 years old. Not only that, but she had not had more than 3rd grade education before she was 40 years old.
Someday I'll be going back to college when i am able to put more time into it, but until then i am loving the journey i am on right now.

Best wishes and keep up the hard work!

I did. When I went back to work after staying home with my kids for 10 years. I felt so behind and out of touch with the rest of the world. Clueless, really.

It takes a bit of time, but things will get better. Stay focused. Quite a challenge you've taken on there and I wish you well with it.

Even positive changes can cause stress and leave us feeling vulnerable.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine!

Yes, I did. I am in my mid-fourties. I wasted my twenties chasing after women and working meaningless jobs. I finally got a good job in my late thirties. My credit is finally rebuilt. and within time I plan to buy a house. Its never too late to catch up. Do not let peer pressure get the best of you.

if you begin to synchronize with the moment and put great effort in it each day, catching up doesn't matter, for you will then enjoy the moment and the moment will begin to build momentum, and before you know it, you are where you wanted to be.
don't rush, it's a great process to experience... don't do less or more than you should in each given day. in other words, don't be so lazy and don' burn yourself out...find that balance, and you will receive a wonderful pat on the shoulder for a job well done, namely from yourself. lastly, do not focus on being competitive. focus on being creative and this will motivate and catapult you through your studies... and congratulations for bringing yourself back to college...
