How long do you wait to become involved with another after a breakup? I know of many that jump within 2 weeks and some within days. But also in the same token I have seen some last years for fear of future pain.
Where do you stand on this emotional moving on after a breakup?

There is joy and happiness in forgiveness! But there is greater joy in being able to think well and take your time in deciding on major issues of your personal life! Think well, it is a very personal decision, getting patched up and getting back to 'rewind' and 're-start', after a break-up, not 'pause'! The time taken for that depends, cannot even talk of average time, this is not theory, this is life! And, every life is unique!

it takes me a while, like probably a few months. i always have this fear that the next person i fall for will do me wrong. if i love a former boyfriend very much, then the emotional moving on is really hard, sometimes i wouldn`t want to date another guy ever again. time will only tell .. i guess.

Five years ago I was engaged and he committed suicide. That was the hardest thing I ever had to go through. 2 months later I ran into my highschool boyfriend at a gas station and we have been together ever since. I hated myself for awhile and felt guilty. I would try to justify it but the truth is didn't have to justify it. People don't get to choose how they feel. You jump back in when the time is right and that is different for everyone.

***would depend on how long it took for someone worth it to come along.
i wouldn't rush into something just to get back into a relationship.
i'd be careful not to go TOO soon after cause they don't deserve that initial baggage nor the risk of simply being a rebound
but i wouldn't avoid a perfectly good relationship simply to avoid being hurt again. who says it will hurt? might be what u were hoping for all along.

I've only had one break up and it was me who called it off as we were going to some scary places!
I took two years to find someone else, mostly because I wasnt searching. I also wanted that someone else to be super special and unique so it I guess fate needed all that time to cook me up the perfect partner!

You can't hangon to your last love. It's just not healthy. but as far as falling in love 2 weeks after a break up...that's a croc.

I would give it 3 months or until I find someone worthy of this treat. I wouldn't do the rebound thing.
