Your Sprint 3G service is not compatable with 802.11x wireless networks. In short, it is used only to connect to a 3G wireless network. You should get a internet connection were ever you can receive a cell signal from Sprint.

You can use both interfaces.

I am referring to your Wireless Network Interface Card (WNIC) and your computer's Wire-line Network Interface Card (NIC).

It sounds like you're referring to a SPRINT WiFi PCMCIA card. This is different then a regular WNIC. This card will allow you to access the Internet even if a "Hot Spot" or as you call it, a "WiFi Zone" isn't available. This card uses the SPRINT digital cellular phone network to allow you to connect to the Internet.

You can use your WNIC when you locate a usable hot spot, usable meaning a spot where your signal strength is sufficient to provide you a pleasant Internet surfing experience. If you connect to a hot spot where your signal strength is poor, you may experience slow Internet access speeds or lose connectivity altogether.

You may use your WNIC in your home as well, simply purchase a Wireless home router and follow the easy installation instructions.

Your NIC, which requires a CAT 5 Ethernet cable can be attached to your WiFi home router should you choose to do this, however, there isn't much point when you can connect to the Internet wirelessly. This is sometimes required however for basic router configuration, mostly you can configure your router without any cables at all.

The advantage of the cable is that you're maximum bandwidth or link speed is increased somewhat, however, not enough for you to give up the incredible convenience of your wireless connection.

Good Luck!

WWAN is not wifi.

wifi is in many coffee shops, libraries and hotel lobbies. If you want to use it at home, you need an ISP and a wireless router.

WWAN uses your card just like a cell phone. Sprint has relatively good coverage. But its very expensive.
