Window units blow cold air out the front and hot air out the back. If you have no way to vent the hot air, it is useless.

Hello , Installing an air conditioner in an interior wall is not legal and creates a health hazard . The exhaust must go outside and into the atmosphere . Also , a lot of heat gets pumped from air conditioners . There are templartes and plenums that will properly fill the area around the air conditioner while installed in a window .

It won't work. An air conditioner takes the heat out of the room by vaporizing freon in the AC unit. The compressor then converts the freon back to liquid. The hot liquid is then cooled by exposure to the outside air using a fan to blow the air across the hot coils. If the entire unit is inside the same room, there is no place for the heat to go except back into the room.

The window air conditioning unit works by blowing the hot air out the back, and reducing the moisture in the air. Without a window all that heat and water is going to end up in the room with you, so there's no benefit to using one without the window. Sorry.

Don't be silly, the hot air has to exit outside the house, and the cold air has to exit inside the house. If you don't have it out the window, it won't do anything but use up the electricity.
An air conditioner just moves hot air from one side of it to the other, it doesn't eliminate it. If it doesn't go outside it just ends up right back where it started.

You'd actually be putting MORE heat in the room not being able to discharge the heat picked up by the unit from the room but also the heat made by the compressor and fan of the unit itself. Not a good idea.

They have portable units that have a tube you can stick out the window.
This would work, you would then need to either cut a hole in the roof of your attic, or through the wall.
Either way you got to cut a hole, but a 6 inch circular tube is not as bad as a 2x3 foot opening in the wall

air conditioners basically need a way to vent the heat it is extracting out of the house in order to allow it to cool. so If you don't vent the heat out of the room, you are just waisting electricity. there are some AC units that are portable, and roll around, but if you notice, they have a dryer vent like hose on them that needs to vent the heat outside.. .same idea, but a small dryer vent like hole could be drilled out of the attic.

It won't burn down the house but it cool it either.
The cold air that blows out the front will be canceled out by the hot air that blows out the back.
It must be vented to cool the room. There are windowless units available but they still need to be vented.

Won't work. One side of the air conditioner blows cold the otherside blows hot. So while you get a cool breeze the air around you gets hotter.
