Your question suggests some biases on your part. I think that adoption can be a great way to give children a good home. It takes a lot more than simply biology to make a good parent. Since adoptive parents have to go through a much more rigorous screening process to have children than do biological parents, they are often better at parenting.

Being adopted I think I can say its a good choice for some to make. All families have some dysfunction and I do think there needs to be more openness about biological families, history and such but there is nothing unnatural about it. Parents are parents no matter where the child comes from.

So your question is simply a veiled statement to say that you have lousy adoptive parents. I'm very sorry to hear that. I never know how adopted children feel inside about being acceptable (in general) knowing they were adopted. Even with the best and most loving adoptive parents.
If this is the case for you, I do hope you know that you have value and importance in this world. I hope that you will use your experience to right the wrongs (in your adult life) that you may have experienced. I hope that you will choose to contribute to the lives of children with whom you can help build (or rebuild). You have a wonderful opportunity to be a positive influence in the life of a child. I consider that a gift.

No, some couples cannot have children and this gives them the opportunity to be parents to a child who does not have a family. If a couple or individual can give a parent less child love, affection, and the things that a child needs I don't see how anyone can put that down as dysfunctional or unnatural.

I think Adoption if fantastic. Your so called "natural parenting" isn't always possible. Lots of women can't carry children or husband's sperm count is too low, many reasons people can't have their own biological children. Adoption helps two people. One is too young to have kids or doesn't want them, so why not give the child to a loving couple, instead of having an abortion. It is fantastic that these children find homes with loving parents. How could anyone think adoption is wrong or bad?

Being a parent is taking responsibility for the development of a child into an adult.

I think adoption has very little to do with anything you imply.

I think that adoption is up to the parents,or the situation. If you are young and you know the baby would have a better life with a family that could better provide for it then I think that's a very brave and wise decision.

I think adoption is a GREAT alternative to abortion! I would think you would to considering you are adopted. I don't know if you are younger or older, but if you are younger and are going through something with your adoptive parents I'm sure you'll get through it and just remember that they love you and they adopted you

It is so right, not everyone are fortunate enough to have kids of their own and there are those kids who are not so lucky because their parents neglect them or abandon them and they were needing assurance, care, protection and most importantly love.Through adoption alot of couple who are barren and have so much love can be able to experience what being a parent is like and a kid to have a parent because not everyone is so fortunate enough

I think adoption is a wonderful thing. You can love someone very much without being biologically bonded to them. For parents who can not have kids themselves and for parents who are uncapable of taking care of kids it provides a wonderul service.
